MINNEAPOLIS -- The Vikings will cut veteran tight end John Carlson after the sides did not reach agreement on a restructured contract, according to FOX Sports 1 NFL Insider Mike Garafolo.

Carlson spent two injury-marred seasons with the Vikings, his home-state team, after signing a sizable contract as a free agent two years ago. The Notre Dame product spent four seasons with Seattle before coming to Minnesota, but he totaled only 40 catches, 387 yards and one touchdown over the last two years.
