Vikings' offseason priority lies with offensive line

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 3:59 p.m. ET

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) After finishing 11-5 with a division title, the Minnesota Vikings will look in 2016 a lot like they did last season.

Still, general manager Rick Spielman must make some important decisions over the next two months. His moves will go a long way toward determining whether the Vikings can take another step closer to Super Bowl contention.

Upgrading the offensive line is most critical for the Vikings. That position group Spielman first mentioned when asked Thursday what he needed to add or change to improve. Veterans John Sullivan and Phil Loadholt might be the trickiest piece of the equation. They're rehabilitating from season-ending injuries and carrying big contracts. Spielman declined to put a timetable on their return to full strength.
