Brady's big night ends with plenty of new entries in SB record book

It was a Very Brady Super Bowl XLIX when it came to records.

In the New England Patriots' 28-24 victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, Tom Brady set two Super Bowl records: most completions in a game (37) and most career touchdown passes (13). He passed Peyton Manning and Joe Montana, respectively.

The only other individual record set in the game was for longest punt: 64 yards, by the Patriots' Ryan Allen.

Brady also tied Joe Montana for most Supe MVPs with three and, by playing in his sixth game, tied defensive lineman Mike Lodish for most games played.

Bill Belichick tied the Pittsburgh Steelers' Chuck Noll for most Super Bowl wins by a head coach with four.

Brady added to his records for most career passes completed and attempted and career passing yardage in the Super Bowl. He now has 164 completions and 247 attempts for 1,605 yards in six games.

And despite the 52 total points and four TD passes by Brady, we also saw some records indicative of a defensive struggle, as the Seahawks became the first team in Super Bowl history to have zero kickoff returns in a game. The teams combined for the fewest kickoff returns (three) and fewest kickoff return yards (49) ever in a Super Bowl.
