New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota are supposed to throw passes, not catch them.

However, since Week 13, Brady and Mariota have combined for more receiving yards than eight big-name wide receivers have produced on their own during that same span.

In a Week 13 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Brady was on the receiving end of a trick play that went for 36 yards. A week later, Mariota one-upped Brady by scoring a 41-yard touchdown reception on a trick play in a blowout loss to the Jets. That’s a total of 77 receiving yards between these two catches.

The list of eight receivers includes two All-Pro pass-catchers — Dallas’ Dez Bryant and Detroit’s Calvin Johnson — as well as several other well-known names.

These guys need to step their game up after this embarrassing statistic.
