Titans promote TE Brackett, place TE Stevens on IR
The Tennessee Titans promoted tight end Brett Brackett from the practice squad for the second week in a row Saturday and placed tight end Craig Stevens on injured reserve.
Stevens had surgery to repair a torn quadriceps tendon Wednesday. He was injured Oct. 5 on the first play in a 29-28 loss to Cleveland. The seven-year veteran was a key run blocker who played in 93 games.
The Titans (2-4) cut Brackett on Monday before adding him to the practice squad. They needed him active Sunday at Washington (1-5) with tight end Taylor Thompson downgraded to out Saturday. The Titans also downgraded running back Shonn Greene (hamstring) and cornerback Coty Sensabaugh (right knee) to out as well.
