Three Chargers who must play big vs. Titans
Before each game I will be covering three players that need to perform well to help the Chargers come out on top. This week the Chargers face the Tennessee Titans.
Chargers need a win on Sunday if they want to stay anywhere close to playoff contention. The AFC West is too talented for the Chargers to lose another game. Here are three players who must perform to keep the Chargers alive.
OT Joe Barksdale
Joie Barksdale has had a rough season to say the least. Last year Barksdale showed great talent, as Charger fans we hate to see layers play well, get their contract, and then stop playing to the ability level expected of them. It seems to happen all too often in San Diego. Let’s hope it doesn’t happen to a fan favorite in Joe Barksdale.
Barksdale has allowed the most sacks of all linemen on the roster. That can’t continue this Sunday.
ILB Korey Toomer
Jatavis Brown is out, and Denzel Perryman is listed as doubtful. Its Ok, not the like Chargers are going against a stiff run game. Oh wait, they are. Korey Toomer has shown the ability to make plays, last week he forced a turnover where if he didn’t, the Broncos would have most likely scored on that drive. Against the Titans, Toomer will have to once again make game changing plays to help stop the run game.
RB Melvin Gordon
Melvin Gordon had one of his best games in the NFL last week. His performance should continue this Sunday. The Titans have nowhere close to the defense of the Broncos. Let’s just hope the Chargers remember to use him in goal line situations.
