Texans issue list of 'simple suggestions' to players in advance of trip to Mexico

The Texans face the Raiders on Monday night in Mexico City, and in advance of their trip out of the country, Houston issued a memo to its players with "simple suggestions" for remaining safe.

Via ESPN.com:

In a memo viewed by ESPN, players are asked to stay in their hotel rooms, eat all meals in the team meal room, and not to order room service. It also says players should only drink and brush their teeth with bottled water and should not consume ice. The players were also instructed to leave expensive jewelry at home, to bring all prescription medicine in a labeled bottle and to not use any ATMs in Mexico.

The Raiders apparently didn't issue anything similar, but the team has made plans to eat meals together and the players have been made aware of any potential risks.

"We understand some of the issues that are there, potentially," Raiders coach Jack Del Rio said. "That's been addressed. We'll put our plan together and go down and compete. I know it's going to be a great atmosphere. It sold out quickly. People are going to be excited to put on a good show down there. It should be a heck of a game."

The NFL is treating the game in Mexico like it would any other international contest. There have been three games in London played already this season.
