For the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it’s obvious that teams are going to key in on Mike Evans, regardless of how well other players are performing. Evans is one of the most dangerous weapons on the team, and also has massive playmaking abilities.

Well, the Buccaneers haven’t been able to get Evans the ball nearly as much as they’d probably like through his four games. He’s totaled just 13 catches for 174 yards, and after the slow start, it’s led to rookie quarterback Jameis Winston even dubbing the second-year receiver as the team’s "secret weapon," according to Andrew Astleford of ESPN.

"He’s like our secret weapon now," Winston told ESPN last week. "People are still going to be game-planning for him, and I haven’t even given him many opportunities to shine yet. So he’s just our secret weapon for right now."

"The great thing about having a guy of his caliber that we haven’t even given him the ball that much — I haven’t given him the ball, we’ve had plays to give him the ball," Winston said.

Evans’ time will definitely come this season, but the fact that players like Doug Martin, Vincent Jackson and Charles Sims have all stepped up, will only be good for Evans as the year rolls on.
