The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been without Pro Bowl running back Doug Martin since Week 2 when he injured his hamstring. Since then, they’ve seen his two replacements go down with injuries of their own as they’re becoming dangerously thin at running back.
While Jacquizz Rodgers is a long shot to play this week and Charles Sims is on IR, they could get a big boost Sunday against the Bears. Martin returned to practice on Wednesday for the first time since suffering the injury.
There are no guarantees he’ll play when it comes time to suit up on Sunday, but it’s certainly a positive development. He rushed for 1,402 yards last season on 4.9 yards per carry.
