T.Y. Hilton Injury Update: Colts WR Questionable To Return

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

The Indianapolis Colts most important skill position player, T.Y. Hilton, exited the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers with a back injury.

Andrew Luck suffered a concussion in Week 11, Vontae Davis came into the game injured and somehow played before leaving the game hurt, and Donte Moncrief played despite receiving the questionable tag due to a hamstring injury. At least they had T.Y Hilton, though—or so they thought.

The Indianapolis Colts are hobbled and things didn’t get any easier for spot-starter Scott Tolzien after No. 1 wide receiver T.Y. Hilton exited the game before the half with a back injury.

The Colts announced that Hilton is questionable to return and fans can only hope that he will be able to resume playing today. Hilton has 888 receiving yards this season, which means he averages 88.8 yards per game.

Few receivers display the mix of speed and tenacity that Hilton does, and he is a jack-of-all-trades receiver. Just last week, we saw how good Hilton is, as he snatched a touchdown from the grasp of Perrish Cox, snagging a crucial score that should have been an interception. Indianapolis, of course, would go on to win that game.

Hilton was one of the few bright spots in the Colts disastrous 2015 campaign and now we are starting to realize why the Colts paid him so handsomely despite also drafting Phillip Dorsett in the first round.

Tolzien must make do without his top target, and the Colts will hope that Hilton, Luck, and Davis will be healthy for Week 13 against the New York Jets after a long break.
