Jets WR Hill suffers concussion

Published Sep. 30, 2013 1:00 a.m. ET

New York Jets wide receiver Stephen Hill has a concussion and his status is uncertain for the team's game next Monday night at Atlanta.

Coach Rex Ryan says Monday that Hill is going through the NFL's concussion protocol after being injured in the Jets' 38-13 loss at Tennessee on Sunday.

After Geno Smith threw an interception on the Jets' second offensive play, Hill was leveled by Tennessee's Michael Griffin on a hit to the head and neck area. Hill stayed on the ground for a few minutes before being helped up, and he walked to the sideline but didn't return.

Griffin was not penalized for the hit.

Ryan has no update on the status of wide receiver Santonio Holmes, who also left late with a hamstring injury.
