Steelers' Le'Veon Bell's status in question after hyperextending knee
Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell suffered a hyperextended right knee after taking a scary hit in the third quarter, according to coach Mike Tomlin.
"Structurally, it appears to be fine," Tomlin said after the game. "We are thankful it isn't anything major."
Still, Tomlin couldn't say if Bell would be available to play in Saturday's Wild Card game against the Ravens. Bell left in the third quarter withfollowing a collision with Cincinnati safety Reggie Nelson.
Nelson hit Bell low at the end of a 19-yard reception and the second-year back -- voted the club's Most Valuable Player by his teammates last week -- lay on the field for several minutes.
He gingerly jogged to the sideline before being taken to the locker room to chants of "MVP! MVP!" Bell set a franchise record for total offense this season and has been one of the catalysts for Pittsburgh's postseason return after a two-year absence.
The Steelers beat the Bengals 27-17 to win the AFC North.
