Rams show true colors in Week 2 loss to Redskins

Published Sep. 21, 2015 6:18 p.m. ET

It's a familiar scenario for the Rams time and time again.

After a strong win at home against a far superior opponent in the Seahawks, the Rams looked just average in falling to the Redskins a week later.

After holding Marshawn Lynch to just 73 yards on 18 carries, the Rams allowed rookie Matt Jones to run wild for 123 yards and two touchdowns on 19 totes.

The offseason narrative indicated Jeff Fisher's squad would finally break through in 2015. Analysts pegged the Rams as a team on the rise. Optimism surrounded the franchise.

Yet Week 2 also confirmed that almost nothing has changed about the Rams.

"Sunday was alarming and painted a picture of another up-and-down season in St. Louis," Adam Schein wrote, via NFL.com.
