Rams' Foles vows to improve in wake of four-interception debacle

The bye week is coming at an opportune time for the St. Louis Rams and quarterback Nick Foles in particular.

Foles could use the extra time to clear his head following his four-interception horror show in Sunday's 24-10 loss at the Green Bay Packers. That led to a career-worst 23.8 passer rating for Foles.

“This is a tough part of the business, but I’m thankful to be in this position where I play, and you have to handle the good with the bad,” Foles told reporters after Sunday's setback. “I didn’t play well. Didn’t give us an opportunity to win. And that’s on me. But I’ll improve going forward.”

Rams coach Jeff Fisher pointed to myriad reasons for the breakdowns in the passing game while acknowledging that Foles "gets the blame for them." Foles, though, laid that blame squarely on himself.

“All of ’em, those are on me,” said Foles, who was picked off only twice in the entire 2013 season while with the Philadelphia Eagles. “I’ve gotta make better decisions to give my teammates an opportunity to make a play. I didn’t do that during those throws."

Foles not only had one interception brought back for a touchdown late in the second quarter, but he also was upset after tossing a pair of second-half picks with St. Louis inside the Green Bay 10-yard line.

"I had two red zone picks that we need to come away with touchdowns," Foles said. "Those are drive-stoppers. So if I clean those up, the game will probably end up differently.”
