Sources: Jordan Reed out for Redskins against 49ers

Published Nov. 23, 2013 3:24 p.m. ET

Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III'€™s second-favorite target will be out  Monday night against the 49ers.

Jordan Reed, who has been dealing with concussion-like symptoms, will be sidelined but should return to action in Week 13 against the Giants, two sources confirmed to FOXSports.com. ESPN first reported the news.

Reed sustained the concussion last week in a loss to the Eagles and hadn't participated in practice all week.

The Redskins will turn to veteran Fred Davis, who hasn'€™t been in the lineup since Oct. 13 against the Cowboys. Reed has been one of the few bright spots on the Redskins offense as he leads all rookies with 499 receiving yards and 45 receptions.
