Seahawks score 2 cool TDs in Atlanta

Published Nov. 10, 2013 12:00 a.m. ET

Apparently not content to beat Atlanta using conventional methods, the Seattle Seahawks took to trickery in the second quarter Sunday against the Falcons en route to a huge early lead.

The flea flicker above took place with 5:42 left in the second quarter, one play after Marshawn Lynch started off a Seattle drive with a 37-yard carry.

Russell Wilson’s toss to Lynch and Lynch’s backward pass to Wilson weren’t overwhelmingly successful, but they created enough deception for Jermaine Kearse to sneak by Falcons safety Thomas DeCoud and catch a 43-yard touchdown in the end zone.

Seattle added a 44-yard field goal from Steven Hauschka and the ridiculous 6-yard touchdown pass to Golden Tate below before the end of the quarter to take a 23-3 halftime advantage.
