Ailing foot forces 49ers' Hyde to walk off practice field

Published Oct. 15, 2015 9:31 p.m. ET

San Francisco 49ers running back Carlos Hyde missed practice for a second straight day Thursday, putting his status in question for Sunday's game against the visiting Baltimore Ravens.

Hyde, who is dealing with a sore foot, participated in individual warm-ups before exiting the field with trainer Jeff Ferguson and strength coach Mark Uyeyama, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

With backup Reggie Bush also sitting out practice for a second day in a row, the only healthy running backs on San Francisco's 53-man roster are former Australian rugby star Jarryd Hayne and Mike Davis.

Hyde ranks seventh in the NFL with 375 yards rushing but his 83 carries through five games matches his total from last year's rookie campaign.

Linebacker Ahmad Brooks, who missed last week's game against the New York Giants, returned to practice for the first time in more than a week after leaving the team to be with his family and attend the funeral of his sister.
