San Diego will bring back a familiar friend to help its decimated receiving corps.

The team re-signed ex-wideout Vincent Brown, according to U-T San Diego's Michael Gelhken. Brown was a Chargers' third-round pick in 2011.

Brown had 60 catches for 801 yards and three touchdowns in his last Chargers' tenure (2011-13). But he broke his ankle in a 2012 preseason game and couldn't play up to par.

The San Diego State product spent parts of last season with the Raiders before joining the Colts. He couldn't make their first round of training camp cuts.

Perhaps a reunion with Philip Rivers could spark his career again.
