Rob Gronkowski is a fun-loving giant who dominates on the field and likes to enjoy life off it. He does have a serious side (we think), though, as he regularly helps out in the community, hosts football clinics and passes out ice cream in Boston.
To commemorate Gronkowski for his off-field efforts, the Patriots presented him with the Ron Burton Community Service Award on Tuesday night. Gronkowski is the 14th player to be honored with the award, which is named after Burton, the first player drafted by the Patriots.
Humbled by the honor, Gronk delivered a fantastic acceptance speech, which included a classic Rob Gronkowski line.

You didn’t expect him to be completely serious throughout the entire speech, did you? Robert Kraft did applaud Gronkowski for his work on the field and in the community, though.
“Rob is just as fun to watch at a community event as he is on the game field,” he said in a statement. “Giving back to the community is a big part of being ‘Gronk.’ He is engaging with fans of all ages. His gregarious personality makes him one of our greatest ambassadors, especially when spreading cheer to children at local hospitals or schools. We love the devotion and enthusiasm that he shows in the community and are proud to present him with this year’s Ron Burton Community Service Award.”
