Report: Two teams negotiating for DeSean Jackson

DeSean Jackson hasn’t been on the open market for long, but two teams who haven’t previously been named as having interest are apparently in deep negotiations with the former Eagles wide receiver, according to an ESPN report, citing an anonymous source.

Jackson, who will reportedly meet with the Redskins on Monday and Tuesday, is the top free agent remaining after being released abruptly last Friday.

"There have been negotiations in the past 24 hours,” the source said, according to the report. “Two teams nobody has mentioned as being interested are deep in negotiations. They are engaged with multiple clubs."

Jackson posted a picture on his Instagram on Monday, suggesting he’s en route via airplane:

Despite coming off a career season, Jackson and the Eagles’ front office had a frayed relationship stemming from “work ethic and attitude” issues. A NJ.com report last week also alleged Jackson had associations with Los Angeles gang members, a report that he has denied.

"I would like to address the misleading and unfounded reports that my release has anything to do with any affiliation that has been speculated surrounding the company I keep off of the field," Jackson said in his statement. "I would like to make it very clear that I am not and never have been part of any gang.

"I am not a gang member, and to speculate and assume that I am involved in such activity off the field is reckless and irresponsible."

After signing a five-year contract extension in 2013, Jackson was set to make $10.5 million in 2014. Instead, the three-time Pro Bowler is looking to land on a team that will compensate him similarly.
