Just as the world has turned its attention to the 2015 NBA Draft, the NFL managed to have a gigantic story drop on Tuesday afternoon.

Benjamin Allbright a radio host in Denver (94.1 FM) and football expert, dropped this bombshell today on Twitter:

#Broncos attempted to trade Peyton Manning this off-season to the Houston #Texans per more than one source in position to know. (1/2)

2/2 Certain elements of Broncos organization wanted Osweiler era to begin this season.

Have two unrelated official sources on this, would be a hilariously oddly coordinated lie, if what they were telling me was untrue.

Wow. Just… wow. The Denver Broncos apparently attempted to trade Peyton Manning to the Houston Texans this offseason. That is about as big as stories get. For those who don’t know, Allbright is typically rock-solid with his information, so I have zero reason to doubt him.

On top of that, we were told in February that the Broncos might part ways with Manning this offseason regardless of his health. While our source was pretty good, we just couldn’t accept that story as true given the franchise’s currently position. Apparently our source was not far off. Allbright followed up all this info with another Tweet:

Way too many questions for me to respond to, still have no on-record official comment from either team (late in day, understandable).

Broncos vice president of public relations, Patrick Smyth, has responded to Allbright with a Tweet of his own:

We'll have more on this story as the news develops.
