Report: Arian Foster sues pregnant woman, claiming 'calculated' extortion scheme

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 3:41 p.m. ET

Houston Texans star Arian Foster has initiated a countersuit against a pregnant college student he claims has launched a "calculated scheme" to extort money from the running back, TMZ reported Tuesday.

The three-time Pro Bowl star reportedly filed a lawsuit in Texas claiming he has clear evidence, including text messages and a legal phone recording, that proves Brittany Norwood, 20, lied by accusing Foster and his brother of harassing her into aborting her pregnancy.

According to TMZ, Foster's lawsuit argues that "Norwood has engaged in a campaign to impugn the character and reputation of [Arian] with the intent to extort monies from him." The suit further is pursuing unspecified damages, in addition for Norwood to pay his legal costs.

Brittany Norwood, a senior at the University of Houston, told TV station KHOU last week that she did not realize Foster, 27, is married with a daughter when the two had sex last summer during Texans training camp. Norwood also claims the pair spent a week together in California, while Foster recovered from back surgery, and sent photos of them together to TMZ.

However, an audio clip TMZ obtained includes a woman Foster alleges to be Norwood, saying "I never once said that you told me to get an abortion" and "I was never in fear of my life around you."
