Redskins' Pierre Garcon expected to be featured more in 2015

After finishing with 1,346 receiving yards and five touchdowns on 113 receptions in 2013, Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon followed that up with just 752 receiving yards and three touchdowns 68 receptions. Garcon has switched positions with DeSean Jackson, and his move to the "Z" spot in Jay Gruden's offense should help open up more opportunities for him in 2015.

Garcon is motivated to put his disastrous 2014 season behind him, and Gruden noticed his effort during the team's spring practices.

“I’m impressed, especially with Pierre,” Gruden said, per the Washington Post. “Pierre has been here every day, working his tail off, doing a great job.”

Wide receivers coach Ike Hilliard was even more effusive in his praise of what Garcon has been able to accomplish on the practice field so far this offsedason.

“Can’t say enough good things about him,” Hilliard said of Garcon, per the Washington Post. “He’s a pro’s pro — a guy you model your game after if you’re a young pro; a guy you pick his brain, if you’re a young guy, when he’s around. You watch him work; you process the game — or try to process the game the way he does. The consummate pro.”

The offense will look to spread the ball around more in 2015, and that alone makes Garcon a strong bounce back candidate. However, if Griffin continues to show signs of regression, the entire offense could take another step backwards. Garcon's bounce back season will be directly correlated to team's quarterbacks and their progression in Gruden's scheme.
