Report: Ray Rice getting 'legitimate interest' from teams
Former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice could be getting another shot in the NFL in the near future.
According to TMZ, Rice has received “legitimate interest” from a handful of teams this offseason. He has reportedly met with multiple teams and received positive feedback, with one NFL agent who does not represent Rice telling TMZ that the 27-year-old will definitely be getting an offer from at least one team.
“He will be back on the field very soon with some team,” the agent said. “I can guarantee that.”
While you have to wonder if any information about Rice’s future could have been planted by his camp, we would not be surprised if a team took a chance on him.
Because of Rice’s age and the bombshell elevator video that showed him striking his then-fiancee and knocking her unconscious, any deal he signs will almost certainly include little to no guaranteed money. There are plenty of NFL teams who only care about on-field production, and Rice is a proven running back who will not require a significant financial commitment.
