Ravens Vs Browns: The Fantasy Football Preview

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

The Ravens host the Cleveland Browns on Thursday Night Football.  I’ll give you a list of  fantasy football players that you should start and sit for each team.

Thursday is the beginning of the Fantasy Football weekend. Games between the Browns and the Ravens have always been close games. I expect that pattern to continue this week even though the Browns have rookie quarterback Cody Kessler starting.

The Browns are struggling on defense and will be without starting cornerback Joe Haden so that will help Joe Flacco out big time. The Ravens offense should be able to move the ball on the Browns even without Marshall Yanda playing.

Week 10 Cleveland Browns to sit vs the Ravens:

Isaiah Crowell: Crowell won’t succeed much when running against the Ravens stout defense. They held Le’Veon Bell in check this past Sunday and they pride themselves on stopping the run. It will be very surprising for me to see Crowell crack 75 yards.

Browns Defense: The Browns defense is full of injuries to their impact players which doesn’t bode the Browns well. If the Browns want to have a chance at winning this game, they need to get some pass rush on the Ravens.  Ronnie Stanley is a rookie and can be beaten, while Marshall Yanda won’t play so that could help the Browns.

Week 10 Cleveland Browns to start vs the Ravens:

Corey Coleman: Coleman was injured during the first Ravens/Browns game, but before he was hurt, he was giving the Ravens secondary problems. Now that Coleman is back for the Browns, he should help out Terrelle Pryor and Gary Barnidge.

Gary Barnidge: Barnidge is having down year compared to last season, but he’s very capable of putting up big games. The Ravens have struggled against big tight ends which favors Barnidge.  Let us not forget that Barnidge torched the Ravens last season in Baltimore. The only difference is Josh McCown is not starting this week.

Week 10 Baltimore Ravens to sit vs the Browns:

Dennis Pitta: Joe Flacco hasn’t been able to utilize his security blanket this much this season.  Pitta is finally healthy this year, but Flacco has been able to pass the ball to his young Wide Receiving corp.

Kamar Aiken: Aiken has been relegated to the slot receiver sometimes in games, but he won’t get that many touches during the game. Both Smith Sr and Wallace will put up monster games, while Aiken won’t have that much of an impact. If the Ravens are dominating the game on offense, then I see Aiken getting more snaps so that the Ravens don’t injure Smith Sr or Wallace.

Week 10 Baltimore Ravens to start vs the Browns:

Joe Flacco: Flacco will be able to move around in the pocket and get the ball to his talented receivers. Without Joe Haden, Joe Flaco will be able to get the ball to Steve Smith Sr. and Mike Wallace. Time in the pocket is all he needs to carve up the depleted Browns defense.

Terrence West: As a Towson University Grad, I’m excited for West to be a Baltimore Raven. He hasn’t taken the reigns as the #1 back on the team, but he’s on his way. West always runs hard and in the past few games I’ve seen him burst through some of the holes during the last few weeks which makes me believe that the running game is just getting started. I keep harping on this, but West should be able to get even better in the run game by seasons end.
