Raiders’ Aldon Smith reportedly being investigated in domestic violence incident

Oakland Raiders linebacker Aldon Smith is cooperating with San Francisco police, who are investigating a domestic violence incident involving Smith and a woman that occurred Saturday, USA Today reported Monday.

According to the report, no arrests have been made or charges filed. TMZ first reported the investigation Monday.

Smith sat out all of last season after he was suspended by the league for repeatedly violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. The former Pro Bowler applied for reinstatement, but the league in December deferred ruling on Smith’s case until March.

Smith spent his first four years in the NFL with the San Francisco 49ers, who released him after he was arrested on hit-and-run, driving under the influence and vandalism charges in the summer of 2015. Smith last played in 2015 with the Raiders, appearing in nine games and finishing with 3 1/2 sacks.
