Steelers LB James Harrison predicts how his NFL PED interview will end
Staring at a possible suspension from the NFL, Pittsburgh Steelers veteran James Harrison has acquiesced to the league’s request for an interview regarding last year’s report by Al-Jazeera America on potential PED use by some of pro football’s biggest stars.
But that doesn’t mean Harrison thinks this whole kerfuffle is a good idea. In fact, after practice on Wednesday, the 38-year-old told reporters that this whole thing is a waste of time — and he offered a prediction on how his interview would play out.
According to ESPN, Harrison’s agent confirmed that his client will meet with the NFL on Thursday at 11 a.m. ET.
The Steelers LB had previously taken a couple of jabs at the league for their insistence on holding the interview, saying that he’d be open to speaking to Roger Goodell on live television so that everyone could see the line of questioning and watch Harrison give his responses.
Along with Harrison, the NFL is seeking interviews with Clay Matthews, Julius Peppers, and Mike Neal, who have reportedly agreed to speak with the league. As Harrison indicated, Peyton Manning was also named in the original report, but the former Denver Broncos QB was cleared after speaking with the league this summer.
