Ben Roethlisberger calms Steelers fans with Aaron Rodgers-like talk: ‘It’s halftime’

The Pittsburgh Steelers surrendered first place in the AFC North to the Baltimore Ravens during their Sunday loss. It dropped their record to 4-4, creating some cause for concern in Pittsburgh.

Ben Roethlisberger wants everyone to calm down and relax, just as Aaron Rodgers did in 2014.

“I could do the Aaron Rodgers, 'Relax,' but I'm just going to say, it's halftime,” Roethlisberger said Tuesday on 93.7 The Fan. “We're at halftime, and we've had a lot of great second halves in my career and Pittsburgh Steelers' season history. … It's not over yet, and I'm excited for the second half of the season.”

The Steelers are by no means out of it, particularly with the Browns on the schedule twice and Roethlisberger getting healthier by the day. They’ll still be in the thick of the postseason race, even after their disappointing start.

After all, they’ve made the playoffs eight out of 12 times since Roethlisberger became the starter.

That’s not to say they don’t need to improve, though.

“I think everybody needs to be accountable, that’s from being where you need to be when you’re supposed to be there to doing your job and not trying to do everybody else’s job,” Roethlisberger said.

The Steelers have the 7-1 Cowboys up next on the schedule, which is another reason Pittsburgh fans are so nervous.
