Packers QB Rodgers active, LB Matthews out

Published Oct. 17, 2010 1:09 p.m. ET

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is active for Green Bay's game against the Miami Dolphins, while linebacker Clay Matthews is out with a left hamstring injury.

Rodgers sustained a concussion on Green Bay's final offensive play in an overtime loss to the Redskins last week, but passed all necessary tests. Matthews leads the NFL with 8 1/2 sacks.

The banged up Packers are also without starting tight end Jermichael Finley (right knee), linebacker Nick Barnett (left wrist) and defensive lineman Ryan Pickett (ankle).

Finley is out indefinitely. Barnett was placed on injured reserve on Friday.

Dolphins rookie right guard John Jerry missed his third game because of an illness. Starting defensive end Jared Odrick (ankle) was also inactive.
