NFL Rumors: Rob Gronkowski suffers punctured lung vs Seahawks
Rob Gronkowski may have suffered an injury against the Seahawks, but it wouldn’t keep him out for too long.
Rob Gronkowski has dealt with his fair share of injuries during his NFL career. He’s hurt his forearm multiple times, torn his ACL and MCL, and has dealt with a few other minor instances. However, Gronkowski has remained arguably the league’s best tight end despite the setbacks.
Well, it seems Gronk is about to miss more time, but not for too long. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the New England Patriots star suffered a punctured lung during Sunday night’s game against the Seattle Seahawks. This would potentially only cause him to miss one game. It didn’t get noted what led to him getting hurt.

A one-game absence may seem like a big deal, but Martellus Bennett is a more than capable backup for Gronkowski. Tom Brady has found ways to work in other targets anyway, even with injuries, so losing Gronkowski may be manageable. If it was another team, this may be a different story.
The Arizona product didn’t show any indication of being hurt during the game against the Seahawks. He had a fairly productive game, though, with six receptions for 56 yards. Most notably, the final pass of the game went over his head to lead to the Seattle victory, which New England tried arguing with the referees for pass interference.
Next Sunday, the Patriots will play the 49ers at Levi’s Stadium. San Francisco has been one of the NFL’s worst teams, even though they’re coming off a tight game with the Arizona Cardinals. It’s one that Gronkowski can probably afford to miss, so he can get back in time for a divisional game with the New York Jets.
