Last week: L, 31-28, vs. NYJLast rank: 32nd

Cleveland is threatening to be the worst team in NFL history. Thank goodness for the Cavs and Indians.31

San Francisco 49ers

1-6

Last week: BYELast rank: 31st

San Francisco is a terrible team, and Chip Kelly might not see a second year.30

Jacksonville Jaguars

2-5

Last week: L, 36-22, at TENLast rank: 26th

Jacksonville quit on Tuesday night for the entire country to see. It was a disgrace.29

Chicago Bears

2-6

Last week: W, 20-10, vs. MINLast rank: 30th

Chicago came out and pounded the Vikings. Likely a one-week aberration, but still a nice job.28

Los Angeles Rams

3-4

Last week: BYELast rank: 29th

The Rams are a forgettable team, mostly because Case Keenum is incredibly mediocre.27

Indianapolis Colts

3-5

Last week: L, 30-14, vs. KCLast rank: 21st

The Colts can’t protect Andrew Luck and the defense is an absolute sieve.26

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

3-4

Last week: L, 30-24, vs. OAKLast rank: 20th

When you can’t beat a team that commits 23 penalties, in your own building, it’s all over.25

Baltimore Ravens

3-4

Last week: BYELast rank: 25th

After starting out well, the Ravens really have fallen apart. Can they save their season against the Steelers.24

Carolina Panthers

2-5

Last week: W, 30-20, vs. AZLast rank: 28th

The Panthers saved their season on Sunday, and now have to keep the ball rolling against Los Angeles.23

New York Jets

3-5

Last week: W, 31-28, at CLELast rank: 24th

The Jets are all kinds of bad, but they beat the Browns and so we have to acknowledge that.22

Tennessee Titans

4-4

Last week: W, 36-22, vs. JAXLast rank: 22nd

Tennessee is hanging around the playoff picture, mostly because it plays in the worst division imaginable.21

Buffalo Bills

4-4

Last week: L, 41-25, vs. NELast rank: 17th

The Bills haven’t made the playoffs since 1999. Might as well tack another year onto that streak.20

Miami Dolphins

3-4

Last week: BYELast rank: 22nd

The Dolphins have a chance to get to .500 with a home game against the Jets this weekend.19

Arizona Cardinals

3-4-1

Last week: L, 30-20, at CARLast rank: 12th

We might have to face the possibility that the Cardinals are not only middling, they are flat-out bad.18

San Diego Chargers

3-5

Last week: L, 27-19, at DENLast rank: 18th

The Chargers stay at the same spot, despite losing to Denver. This is a good football team.17

New Orleans Saints

3-4

Last week: W, 25-20, vs. SEALast rank: 23rd

New Orleans is showing signs of life and is getting healthier on defense. Could the Saints make a push?16

Detroit Lions

4-4

Last week: L, 20-13, at HOULast rank: 13th

The Lions could have put themselves in great playoff position, but now have to make up some ground in the North.15

Cincinnati Bengals

3-4-1

Last week: T, 27-27, vs. WSHLast rank: 15th

Cincinnati is struggling to beat any team of actual substance. That doesn’t bode well with tough games down the stretch.14

Washington Redskins

4-3-1

Last week: T, 27-27, at CINLast rank: 16th

Washington missed a golden opportunity to beat the Bengals and earn a fifth win, but it remains in the mix.13

Houston Texans

5-3

Last week: W, 20-13, vs. DETLast rank: 19th

Houston moves up six spots because it leads its division for another week, and because it won a game over a good opponent.12

New York Giants

4-3

Last week: BYELast rank: 14th

The Giants have a huge game coming up against the Eagles. A win, and the playoff race is on.11

Philadelphia Eagles

4-3

Last week: L, 29-23, at DALLast rank: 10th

Carson Wentz looked like Alex Smith on Sunday, and the Eagles blew a very winnable, important game. They need to bounce back.10

Pittsburgh Steelers

4-3

Last week: BYELast rank: 11th

The Steelers desperately need to get Ben Roethlisberger back under center. Without him, yikes.9

Green Bay Packers

4-3

Last week: L, 33-32, at ATLLast rank: 7th

The Packers finally hummed on offense, but allowed 33 points and a last-minute touchdown. Green Bay is in some trouble.8

Seattle Seahawks

4-2-1

Last week: L, 25-20, at NOLast rank: 4th

Seattle is a very good team, but that offensive line is all kinds of terrible. Can the Seahawks get the train back on the tracks before playing Buffalo?7

Atlanta Falcons

5-3

Last week: W, 33-32, vs. GBLast rank: 9th

The Falcons got a huge win on Sunday over Green Bay, and now appear to be back in the driver’s seat of the NFC South.6

Minnesota Vikings

5-2

Last week: L, 20-10, at CHILast rank: 2nd

The Vikings have an absolutely atrocious offensive line. This is a huge problem going forward if not fixed.5

Oakland Raiders

6-2

Last week: W, 30-24, at TBLast rank: 8th

When you commit 23 penalties and still win, you’re pretty damn good. Plus, the Raiders are 5-0 on the road.4

Kansas City Chiefs

5-2

Last week: W, 30-14, at INDLast rank: 6th

The Chiefs played most/all of Sunday’s game without Alex Smith, Spencer Ware, Justin Houston and Jamaal Charles. They won on the road by 16 points.3

Denver Broncos

6-2

Last week: W, 27-19, vs. SDLast rank: 5th

Denver is getting the job done with defense, which might just be enough to make a second title run.2

Dallas Cowboys

6-1

Last week: L, 29-23, vs. PHILast rank: 3rd

Dallas came back to win a critical game in the fourth quarter. Any doubters out there are awful quiet.1

New England Patriots

7-1

Last week: L, 41-25, at BUFLast rank: 1st

The Patriots beat up the Bills for 60 minutes in front of their fans on Sunday. This is the best team in football.
