Bowles on London sightseeing: Players have 'enough money' to come back

Rather than spending most of the week in London, the New York Jets decided to cut the trip short and leave for England on Thursday night. With a few days of preparation before the game on Sunday, there won't be much time for sightseeing.

To Todd Bowles, it's merely a "business trip," so players shouldn't plan on touring the city.

"They’ve got enough money, they can make it in the offseason," Bowles said with a laugh. "They will be OK, they will be alright. They get a little bit of free time, they can do their tour. We’re on a business trip. [If] they want to go back in the offseason, hey, have at it."

Bowles does have a point: Players make enough money to return in the offseason, if they'd like to. But it wouldn't hurt to take the team to see Big Ben or the London Eye.

Bowles has clearly established himself in the Jets' locker room, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. Several players have lauded him for the way he handles the team with a "no nonsense" style. It could even have something to do with their 2-1 start to the season.
