Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick named AFC Offensive Player of the Week

New York Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has been on a tear since trimming his beard three weeks ago. He's tossed nine touchdowns and zero interceptions in that span and has led the Jets to three straight wins. Additionally, he's won his first award of the season thanks to his performance on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.

Fitzpatrick was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week, becoming the second Jets player in a row to win the award. He threw for 263 yards and three touchdowns, while also adding 23 yards on three carries in Week 14.

Brandon Marshall took home the award two weeks ago for his 12-catch, 131-yard game. It's the first time the Jets have been honored with it in back-to-back weeks since 2002 when Chad Pennington did it.

Fitzpatrick is the fourth Jets player to take home a weekly award this season, joining Marshall, Darrelle Revis and Ryan Quigley. It's also the third time Fitzpatrick's been named AFC Offensive Player of the Week in his career.
