Jets’ Bowles ‘not sure’ if Revis (concussion) will play Sunday

The New York Jets will have their hands full with Odell Beckham Jr. on Sunday, and they may have to attempt to contain him without their best defender.

Darrelle Revis remains in concussion protocol on Wednesday and is a question mark to play this weekend. Todd Bowles didn't sound overly optimistic during his press conference, saying he's “not sure” if Revis will be able to play.

Revis was absent from practice once again on Wednesday and has yet to attend team meetings. Bowles did say he's done “light physical activity” and is “getting better every day,” Revis is far from certain to play in Week 13.

To make matters worse, his replacement and the team-leader in interceptions, Marcus Williams, was also a non-participant due to a knee injury. Williams started in place of Revis in Week 12 but it's unclear if he'll be able to do the same this week against the Giants.

Regardless of who lines up at cornerback, Bowles doesn't think Beckham will take over the game.

“He's not impossible to cover,” Bowles said.

It's conceivable that Antonio Cromartie could be tapped to cover Beckham, which adds another wrinkle. Cromartie called Beckham a “one-year wonder” earlier in the season, so the young wideout could have extra motivation going into Sunday.
