The Carolina Panthers saw their season end this past weekend, and now they face the potential of losing one of their coaches.

Defensive coordinator Sean McDermott will interview for the New York Jets’ head coaching opening, FOX Sports’ Mike Garafolo and other media are reporting.

McDermott had spent his entire NFL coaching career with the Philadelphia Eagles before taking a job with the Panthers in 2011. Carolina has ranked 10th or better in total defense for the past three seasons, including a 2013 campaign that saw the unit ranked No. 2 behind Super Bowl champion Seattle.
