Jets RB Chris Ivory dealing with 'tightness in his quad'

Published Oct. 26, 2015 4:26 p.m. ET

Chris Ivory was on and off the field early in the game against the New England Patriots on Sunday as it appeared he was dealing with a hamstring injury that hindered him in weeks prior. He didn't have his best game, rushing 17 times for 41 yards, and it's now clear why.

According to Todd Bowles, Ivory is dealing with "tightness in his quad." That would explain why he was on the training bike between drives, and it also is an indication as to why Ivory struggled throughout the game.

It's unclear if the injury will sideline Ivory at all, but it's unlikely since he was able to play through it on Sunday. If he does miss time, it won't be good for the Jets, who lost the only game Ivory missed this season.

Due to his poor performance on Sunday, Ivory is no longer the league's leader in rushing yards per game (100.2). He now trails rookie Todd Gurley (110.5) and Le'Veon Bell (102.2).
