The Ed Block Courage Award is given annually to a player on every NFL team. This award is given to a player "who has persevered through adversity," as Joel A. Erickson of The New Orleans Advocate explains.

As Erickson also points out, the New Orleans Saints have voted and their winner is cornerback Delvin Breaux.

Breaux, who has gone from Canadian Football League star to NFL lockdown cornerback, was never expected to play again after breaking his neck as a senior in high school. To come back like this? Well, that's the definition of this award, making Breaux the perfect choice to take it home.

The talented cornerback spoke with Erickson about winning the award.

“It’s pretty cool because these guys see me every day and know my personality,” Breaux told The New Orleans Advocate. “I’m just blessed that they picked me to win the award. It means a lot. It’s an awesome award.”

Congratulations to Breaux for the award, as well as an impressive season and a very bright NFL future.
