Report: Rob Gronkowski (knee) expected to 'be OK'

The New England Patriots held their collective breath late in the fourth quarter on Sunday as Rob Gronkowski suffered a knee injury and was carted off the field. He was unable to return and is expected to undergo further testing on Monday to determine the severity.

While the injury appeared to be serious, there is belief around New England that Gronkowski won't miss an extended period of time. A source told Adam Schefter of ESPN "we think he is going to be OK." Schefter also reported that the injury "doesn't appear to be serious."

That's a huge relief for the Patriots, but more tests on Monday should provide more information on his timetable to return -- if he misses any time at all. He was seen walking around in the locker room with no visible limp and reportedly left the locker room without a brace or crutches.

Bill Belichick didn't have an update on Gronkowski's injury after the game, which was expected from the head coach. While the Patriots seem optimistic right now, an MRI on Monday will be telling for his status going forward.
