Patriots' 350-pound defensive tackle Alan Branch apparently is a skateboarder

New England Patriots defensive tackle Alan Branch is not built like your typical or even atypical skateboarder. He's 6-foot-6 and weighs 350 pounds. But he digs skateboarding and became passionate about it while growing up in New Mexico.

"In New Mexico, there's not a bunch of things to do," he said, via NFL.com's Mike Garafolo. "So I ended up playing sports, skateboarding and breakdancing."

When it was pointed out that there are other activities in New Mexico, notably the kind featured prominently in "Breaking Bad," Branch said, "Yeah, that's why I did the other things," Branch said. "To keep away from that."

Though the 32-year-old is quite large, he's very athletic and operates at a low center of gravity. And if you're down in Houston, you might get to see him in action on a board.

"I'm actually waiting for an early morning where not too many people are out yet so I can just whip it around," he said. "I was going to do it this morning, but I was too tired."
