Vikings can start streaking during soft stretch in schedule

The Minnesota Vikings are 2-2 and should feel rejuvenated after a bye in Week 5. The first quarter of the season provided some tough challenges, so the Vikings must dominate the upcoming stretch.

Over the next five weeks, the Vikings play five teams that currently have losing records. They play the 1-4 Chiefs this coming Sunday. The Chiefs are coming off a heart-breaking loss to the Bears and have lost All-Pro running back Jamaal Charles to an apparent ACL injury. This game should serve as the start of a Minnesota winning streak.

After that, the Vikings return to NFC North competition to play the Lions (0-5) and Bears (2-3) in Weeks 7 and 8, respectively. Those matchups are followed by clashes with the St. Louis Rams and Oakland Raiders (both 2-3) in the ensuing weeks.

This stretch of opponents with a combined record of 7-18 leads up to Minnesota's showdown with the Packers at TCF Bank Stadium on Nov. 22. The undefeated Packers (5-0) are showing no signs of slowing down, so the Vikings must dominate the next five games for their Week 11 matchup with Green Bay to have any bearing on the NFC North race.
