Miami's Patterson, Stanford go on reserve-injured

Published Dec. 10, 2013 1:57 p.m. ET

Miami Dolphins cornerback Dimitri Patterson has been placed on the reserve-injured list because of a groin injury that has bothered him since September.

Reserve cornerback R.J. Stanford also went on the reserve-injured list Tuesday with a right leg injury. The moves end the season for both players.

The Dolphins signed free agent cornerback Justin Rogers, and signed safety Michael Thomas off the San Francisco 49ers' practice squad. Rogers started the first five games this year with Buffalo and played in one game with the Houston Texans before they waived him Nov. 28.

Patterson played in six games this season and had four interceptions. He aggravated his groin injury during Sunday's win at Pittsburgh.
