There is a lot of chatter around the Dolphins this morning that Jamil Douglas could be out of a job in Miami. His play this off-season has not been very good and with a new coaching regime and new management at the helm, Douglas may be playing for another team in 2016. If at all.

Drafted in 2015 by then GM Dennis Hickey in the 4th round, Douglas started six of the 16 games he appeared in as a rookie. Including in week one against the Redskins.

Like most mid-round draft picks under the Joe Philbin era, Douglas struggled early and often with consistencly and eventually lost his starting job.

The Dolphins have not had a formidable offensive line in quite some time but things may be changing in 2016. There is a lot of growth potential and the weakest spot still appears to be right guard where Douglas has slid down the depth chart at.

With Ja’Wuan James and Branden Albert holding the tackles down and rookie Laremy Tunsil learning his way around the left guard spot, right guard has been up for grabs but it’s Jermon Bushrod who appears to be the favorite to start.

Douglas has also played some center but when Mike Pouncey was injured it was Anthony Steen who got the call up.

Douglas will likely be staying close to his phone today.
