Dolphins LB Chris McCain carted off with knee injury, return doubtful

The Miami Dolphins got a little bit thinner at linebacker on Sunday. Backup Chris McCain suffered a knee injury in the third quarter and had to be carted to the locker room. His return is doubtful.

The injury occurred on a punt by the San Diego Chargers where McCain was involved in a collision. He remained on the ground for some time until the cart came out. At this point, it appeared to be a fairly serious injury.

He's played in eight games this season, recording two tackles and one sack. He hasn't played a huge role on defense this season but does provide pass rushing depth. He's also the player who infamously changed his Twitter avatar to a photo of him squeezing Tom Brady's head.
