Bears OC Adam Gase becomes fifth to interview for Dolphins' HC vacancy

The Miami Dolphins' coaching search continued on Thursday, adding to their list of potential candidates. Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase interviewed for the job on Thursday, according to the team's official site.

Gase joins Mike Shanahan, Mike Smith, Teryl Austin and Anthony Lynn as the fifth interviewee for the Dolphins. He's been a hot coaching prospect over the past months, receiving a ton of interest from several teams around the league, including the Philadelphia Eagles.

Gase, 37, is a young head coach but has experience working with some of the top quarterbacks in the league. Most recently he was Jay Cutler's offensive coordinator in Chicago, and held the same position for Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos in the two years prior.

Given his history with Cutler and Manning, he could certainly help the development of Ryan Tannehill in Miami. Tannehill showed potential and growth in his first three seasons but seemed to take a bit of a step back this season, despite having Jarvis Landry and a bevy of weapons to throw to.

The Dolphins would be wise to make a strong push for Gase, who would be five years younger than the youngest head coach in the league currently, Mike McCoy.
