McDonald starting at center for Browns vs. Raiders

Published Oct. 26, 2014 3:12 p.m. ET

CLEVELAND (AP) Nick McDonald is starting at center for the Browns against Oakland, allowing right guard John Greco to move back to his regular position.

McDonald was activated from the reserve/non-football injury list Saturday. He had been sidelined after undergoing wrist surgery.

Greco started at center last week in Jacksonville after Pro Bowler Alex Mack was lost for the season with a broken leg. Without Mack, the Browns didn't have their usual continuity up front and their offensive line was out of sync while being dominated in a 24-6 loss to the previously winless Jaguars.

Also, defensive end Ahtyba Rubin is back for Cleveland after missing two games with a sprained ankle. Rubin should help a defense allowing 155.5 yards rushing per game.

The Raiders are without starting defensive end LaMarr Woodley (biceps) and strong safety Usama Young (knee). Both were placed on injured reserve Saturday.
