Updated Mar. 4, 2020 1:28 p.m. ET

ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) The Detroit Lions have agreed to contract extensions for running back Theo Riddick and punter Sam Martin.

The team announced the deals Friday but did not provide terms. General manager Bob Quinn said in a statement that he's glad the extensions have been completed before the start of the season. Detroit opens Sunday at Indianapolis.

Riddick averaged only 3.1 yards per carry last season on 43 attempts, but he caught 80 passes for 697 yards. Martin averaged 46 yards a punt.

The Lions drafted both players in 2013.
