Lacy and Shields out for season for Packers

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 4:44 p.m. ET

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) Running back Eddie Lacy and cornerback Sam Shields will stay on injured reserve for the rest of the season, with the Green Bay Packers planning to activate cornerback Makinton Dorleant from injured reserve.

Coach Mike McCarthy said on Wednesday that Dorleant, an undrafted rookie free agent, would be activated for the game Monday night at Philadelphia.

The Packers have been without their top cornerbacks in Sam Shields (concussion) and Damarious Randall (groin) for much of the season. Quinten Rollins is coming back from a groin injury, and Demetri Goodson suffered a serious knee injury last week against Washington.

Shields got hurt in the season opener, while Lacy has been out since Week 5 with an ankle injury.
