Back in May, Kirk Cousins found himself on the receiving end of a fair amount of internet mockery when the Washington Redskins quarterback posted this tweet mentioning the commercially successful yet critically reviled band Creed:
Today the @Creed Greatest Hits album was played during the team lift. Today was a good day.
So in an interview with Redskins.com, Cousins clarified that his tweet, which looked as if it outed the 28-year-old as an unabashed Scott Stapp fan, actually "got misconstrued a little bit" — "I don’t know it’s quite as big of a deal as people think it is."
So there it is. Taking Creed and Gollum down a notch with one decisive blow.
