Eric Berry's playoff INT cherry on top for probable NFL Comeback Player of the Year winner

Eric Berry is a player we can all cheer for.

No matter if you bleed Houston Texans blue, the Kansas City Chiefs safety's return from Hodgkin's lymphoma to Pro Bowl safety in one calendar year is nothing less than remarkable.

Berry added another chapter to his comeback story by picking off an ill-advised throw by Texans quarterback Brian Hoyer in the first half of Sunday's wild-card game in Houston.

There's a long list of deserving candidates who could win Comeback Player of the Year -- including Minnesota's Adrian Peterson, Cincinnati's Geno Atkins, San Francisco's NaVorro Bowman, and Arizona's Carson Palmer. But not one of them, respectfully, has persevered through the face of adversity over the last year like Berry.
