Suspended Browns WR Josh Gordon reportedly meets with Roger Goodell

Suspended wide receiver Josh Gordon met with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell on Wednesday, NFL.com reports.

The 25-year-old Gordon missed the entire 2015 season after yet another violation of the league's substance-abuse policy, and another positive test this past March convinced the league to extend his suspension. However, he is eligible to apply for reinstatement on Aug. 1.

The road back has been a difficult one for the Cleveland Browns wideout, who last played a game in December 2014 and who also served suspensions during the 2013 and 2014 seasons for violating the league's substance-abuse policy. And his return this season is obviously far from a certainty. In fact, the Browns just drafted four wide receivers, possibly signaling that they no longer are counting on him contributing.

Gordon led the NFL with 1,646 receiving yards in 2013, when he played 14 games after being suspended for the first two.
